Sustainability at troi
We want to make our contribution to sustainability, through our software solutions and services, but also as a company. When we come together at the troi office, we make sure to operate in an environmentally responsible and resource-efficient way. We question constant consumption and support organizations that make an important contribution to our future.

What are the three pillars of our sustainability strategy?
Sustainability is often associated solely with climate protection. However, the concept goes far beyond that. This is why our strategy is based on three pillars: climate and environmental protection, social commitment, and health and well-being. With this approach, we aim to make a comprehensive contribution that supports both economic and social goals.
Climate and environmental protection
In our daily consumption as well as in our office operations, we make sure to act in a resource-efficient and environmentally responsible way.
Social commitment
We actively support various organizations and foundations that are committed to greater equal opportunities and better education.
Health and well-being
In the office, we provide fresh organic fruit for a healthy snack in between, as well as regular shared lunches.
How is our CO₂ footprint calculated?
The calculation of our CO₂ footprint was based on the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard. In preparing this CO₂ balance and this report, the five core principles of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Accounting and Reporting Standard were applied. The emissions fall into three scopes.
- Scope 1 includes all emissions that occur directly, for example from company-owned facilities or vehicle fleets.
- Scope 2 covers emissions resulting from purchased energy, such as electricity and district heating.
- Scope 3 includes all other emissions that are not under the company’s direct control, such as employee travel or product disposal.
How do we reduce our emissions?
Our goal is to further reduce our emissions. This mainly affects Scope 3 emissions, those that are not under the company’s direct control, such as employee travel. We work on them in three ways: less business travel, an exchange of best practice with partners and customers, and the involvement of our employees.
Reducing business travel
Avoiding business travel and using lower-emission modes of transport such as public transportation and bicycles.
Best practice exchange
Engaging partners and customers in climate protection measures, for example through best practice sharing and targeted initiatives.
Employee involvement
Involving employees in the implementation of climate protection measures, for example through social days.
How does troi offset its CO₂ emissions?
Each year, we support a climate project to offset the CO₂ emissions we generate. By offsetting our CO₂ emissions, troi has been 100% climate neutral since 2021. The current project is Clean Drinking Water, with ClimatePartner. troi’s ClimatePartner ID is 20630-2501-1001.

Which organizations do we support?
Through our birthday donation initiative, we donate 25 euros for each employee’s birthday to betterplace.org. In this way, we support PLANT MY TREE, Viva con Agua and Ozeankind. Beyond that, we support organizations and foundations that are committed to greater equal opportunities and better education.

Where is troi hosted, and how is the data protected?
troi is hosted in Austria by our partner Digimagical, powered by 100% renewable energy, so the servers run in the EU. Protecting your data is our highest priority: troi is ISO/IEC 27001 certified and relies on the latest security standards. The details of hosting and support are on the SaaS service page.
