troi has long been an integral part of project work at Martin et Karczinski. The 2020 COVID crisis was the trigger to question and rethink existing processes. Through standardization and newly defined workflows, greater efficiency was to be created in order to be better prepared for new challenges.

Florian Strauss, together with founder Peter Martin, is responsible for the management of Martin et Karczinski GmbH, a holistic consulting firm founded in 2000 in Munich by Peter Martin and Daniel Karczinski. The owner-managed company operates from Munich and Zurich and supports clients with 100 experts across Consulting, Strategy, Design and Digital.
Its clients include Occhio, Gaggenau, SRH, Miles & More and Lufthansa.
The great thing is that we were able to fully adapt troi to our specific needs and continuously optimize its functionalities together. troi offers everything, from lead creation to project controlling to billing management, to support us holistically in planning and steering. Above all, the various evaluations, such as time evaluation and MIS, help us in successful project and corporate management. Together with troi, we have developed and established standards that support and relieve us in our daily work, so that we can focus on our actual business as best as possible.

The requirement
The biggest challenge was to break old patterns and approach topics in a new way. Additionally, knowledge about the system’s capabilities and its further developments had declined over the years. Established processes had reached their limits, so the approach was a fresh start: back to the beginning.
The solution
In response to the requirements of Martin et Karczinski, a customized training concept was developed to define processes anew and align them with troi. Together with a core team consisting of Management, Client Services and Finance, the ideal workflow for daily business was designed, and the project workflow was aligned with the software processes to fully utilize system functionality.
The result
By re-establishing troi as the central control element and introducing standardization and automation, faster and more efficient work processes were enabled, and maximum transparency was created. A unified project workflow, with consistent time tracking and clear cost calculation, now provides a clear view of project profitability.
