Integrated project management with troi and Jira

move:elevator, a full-service agency for 360-degree communication, needed to introduce a new project management system to replace a legacy solution. Beyond streamlining workflows across its three locations and more than 100 employees, seamless Jira integration was a key requirement, with time tracking and invoicing directly at the Jira task level.

Profile

Alexander Hippe has been with move:elevator since 2006 and manages the Dresden office. move:elevator is a full-service agency with locations in Oberhausen, Dresden and Berlin. With over 100 employees, it develops and delivers creative solutions for leading brands, and in over 20 years it has evolved from a classic advertising agency into a partner for fully integrated, cross-channel communication.

The flexibility of troi’s open API opened up new possibilities for integrating third-party systems. troi and Jira work together seamlessly for task organization and time tracking.

The challenge

For many years, move:elevator has used Atlassian’s enterprise project management suite, with Confluence as its knowledge base and Jira as its task management tool across all projects and client relationships. The new system therefore had to allow integrated time capturing and invoicing directly at the Jira task level, keeping the process simple, but still accurate.

We have been working for many years with Atlassian’s enterprise project management suite, using Confluence as our knowledge base and Jira as our task management tool across all projects and client relationships. We were looking for agency software that would allow integrated time capturing and invoicing directly at the Jira task level, keeping the process simple, but still accurate.

The solution

The introduction of troi was accompanied by a comprehensive workflow redesign, with the goal to evaluate and optimize all project-related processes, not only to implement a new system. troi was configured to meet move:elevator’s requirements and integrated with Jira via the open API, linking both systems seamlessly. Tailored training sessions followed for administration, consulting, and project teams.

Time tracking for projects and working hours is very simple, whether from desktop or mobile. With accurate and real-time time entries, estimating remaining effort during project execution becomes much easier, giving us greater planning reliability.
